Planning forums

We have set up five planning forums covering different geographical sections of the London to West Midlands route. Please click on the links below for further details on each of the forums:

Our planning forums meet every two months and act as      the focal point for our engagement with such bodies and organisations as listed below. They enable us to provide the latest information and facilitate senior level discussion regarding the design work and method, and the progress and findings of the Environmental Impact Assessment in the relevant geographical areas.

Particular areas for consideration include:

  • location specific constraints, design and impacts, including construction
  • spatial planning considerations
  • planning regime to be set out in the hybrid bill; and
  • proposals for mitigations (for consideration by community forums).

Membership of these forums includes HS2 Ltd area teams and officers from highway and planning authorities (i.e. Boroughs, Counties and Districts) on the London to West Midlands route, along with Transport for London and Centro. On an invitation basis, the forums also involve Network Rail, the Highways Agency and local officers of statutory environmental consultees.

It is HS2 Ltd’s intention also to hold a planning forum in the Buckinghamshire-Hertfordshire area. Discussion and correspondence continue with the relevant Authorities with the aim of establishing such a forum.
